More Immigration Reform is Pointless.

dimstar29.jpgI caught an interesting piece of news today related to the War in Iraq and immigration reform. As we all know, the Bush Administration and key Democrats are pushing for the New Deal of Immigration. I think this news bit explains why it is unnecessary. The bit was about an Iraqi woman who acted as an interpreter for the U.S. at the beginning of the rebuilding of Iraq, and later fled the country due to death threats.

Her story is sad in that she attempted to do the right thing only to be victimized by her attempt to help. She is currently living in Syria awaiting her paper work to immigrate to the U.S. and this is where immigration reform comes into play.

This woman filled out all of the required paper work. She  filled it out with the proper authorities and yet she sits in a state of limbo because the paper work will take months, possibly years to process. The fact that she filled out all of the legal paper work required to apply for an immigration visa is testimony to the willingness of foreigners to follow the law when attempting to immigrate to the U.S. The fact that she will be unable to immigrate for what must seem like an eternity is the motive for illegal immigration.

The United States Government needs to stop fighting over the validity of all that is contained in the Immigration Reform Act and realize that none of it is valid. The U.S. already has plenty of immigration legislation. What we need is the man power required to enforce the laws and process the paper work.

I feel that a timely acceptance or denial of an immigrant’s application will curb the amount of illegal immigration simply by allowing people who are eligible to immigrate within their lifetime. The system is so understaffed people wishing to immigrate may as well fill out the paperwork in their  great grand children’s names because they will be deceased for years before their application is reviewed.

I commend the people who work to assist immigrants on a day to day basis. I am not trying to cast blame their way. I am attempting to cast a light on the fact that they are overwhelmed. We should be spending some of those billion dollar checks on our own infrastructure.

Valuable and qualified immigrants who deserve the right to immigrate legally should be processed in an orderly and expedient manner. Come on Congress, how about helping the Department of Immigration and Naturalization out, hire someone.

I know, you may not be able to vote yourselves a raise for a couple of years but hey, you still get that sweet Social Security deal.

  1. Americans don’t want solutions, they want Vaudeville.

The Republicans solution for everything, “More Laws.” Unless it comes to regulating corporations, but in general Republicans love laws. They want piles and piles of laws. Laws that apply to “them”, not “us” of course.

Most of these fools who bitch about the “Mexicans taking over”, seem to forget when their ancestors were mouth breathing their way across the Atlantic they weren’t exactly welcomed with open arms.

“Enforce the laws we already have, and staff the place?”

    Are you fucking nuts?

  2. There isn’t much pork to be found in the promotion of the Dept. of Immigration. So none of the Congressmen are intrested in promoting it.

If Congress figures out how to juice the federal government and line their freezer, then maybe there will be some support for the Dept.

  3. Geez, I wish you liberals would make up your damned minds. You hate the war in Iraq because “the cost is too high”. Yet as soon as the President formulates a plan to get a major source of manpower for the Army (those 12 Million “illegal” mexicans) you bitch about that too.

Make up your minds- do you want Americans to die in Iraq, or illegal mexicans?

Not to mention that all those illegals, suddenly legalized would have to start paying taxes that could then be tacked onto the many bills Dems liek to try and sneak through.

    Viva La Immagracion!

  4. That is quite possibly the worst justification for the new Immigration Act that I have read.

What is it, “Two Minutes To Midnight” are we prepared to, ‘oil the jaws of the war machine, and feed it with our babies’?(Iron Maiden)

Just so long as they are, little brown Mexican Immigrant babies. Is that the justification you want to stand behind TR? If you run out of Mexican babies, there’s always all those Black babies living off welfare that you can turn the Gestapo(OOps, I mean the Dept.for Homeland Security) on.

You and people who think like you, are a disgraciful representation of those God fearing pilgrams, you Republicans’ all love to harken back to, when trying to sell your newest Snake Oil reciepe.

    Shame on you.

  5. Lorenzo,

TR is a pseudo-intellectual hack. Pay it no mind.

Black babies? Are you kidding? They’d steal all the equipment then start humping all those fine islamic women. Not to mention they’d be too busy playing basketball to actually fight.

No, if we can’t legalize all the mexicans and their brainworm parasite puppet masters, then my next choice would be Orientals. Wasn’t there a problem a few years ago with Chinese being smuggled into the country? I mean, crap, Danny Glover made a damned movie out of it (Lethal Weapon something or other).

Yeah, those chinks would be great fighters! And they could repair all the electronics damaged by all the sand the cameljockeys kick up!

Come to think of it, what did happen to all the illegal, yellow commie bastards that were getting smuggled in….?

  7. The age-old pesky U.S.-Mexico border problem has taxed the resources of both countries, led to long lists of injustices, and appears to be heading only for worse troubles in the future. Guess what? The border problem can never be solved. Why? Because the border IS the problem! It’s time for a paradigm change.

Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.
